Jonah had his 6 month check-up last week. He is 27 and 1/4 inches and 19.5 lbs. We weren't really surprised by his weight. He is a big boy! He is super healthy and is sitting up like a pro.(Dr. Scott was impressed) His new thing is shaking his head "no" when he gets excited. It's hilarious because you can ask him silly questions and he always says no. I've been trying to get it on video but everytime the camera comes out he stops and stares. I'll post it when I finally get it.
He had a nasty cold last week and felt really puny. We aren't sure if he had a cold before he got his shots or if he got his shots and then got a cold, but he had a fever for a few days and wasn't himself. He is feeling much better and is back to his happy, giggly, funny, talkative self.
Here are some pics I forgot to put in the last post. This is what happens when Jonah's Aunties get really bored on a warm sunny day.
Little Buddha :)
So cute when he laughs!

I know it's been a whole month since Jonah's blog has been updated...sorry. Jonah keeps me pretty busy. He is eating "real" food now. We started with squash and he now eats carrots, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, and bananas. He is a good eater and surprisingly doesn't make too huge of a mess. Once he figured out what he is supposed to do he has been really easy to feed.
He hasn't started crawling yet. But he sits up by himself and has started lunging forward like he wants to go somewhere. I think it's just a matter of time. He can scoot backward when he's on his tummy and I've tried to explain to him that its counter-productive...he just doesn't listen.
Jonah was a little sick around Easter. The Dr. thinks he may have had the rota virus. If you know what that is, you know how yucky it was. Lots and LOTS of laundry. It took him a while to fully recover. It made him super tired and we had to give him lots of pedialite to keep him hydrated. Poor little guy was just not his happy self. He also has eczema pretty bad. Uncle Mike put some cream on it and it looks a lot better. We've also been covering him in unscented lotion and changed his yummy smelling baby wash to the boring kind. It's amazing how big a difference it's made. It's almost gone in some spots.
He's been having a blast with his Aunt Michelle and cousins Emma, Grace and Davey. He laughs all the time and they keep him busy all day. Aunt Michelle has been watching him for about 2 months. He has so much fun and I know he's being taken care of. Our awesome friend Anna takes care of him on Thursdays to give Aunt Michelle a break, and to enjoy his excellent company. He loves hangin out with her too. I think it's good for him. He is used to having a lot of different people around. He isn't shy at all!
Jonah's first taste of squash.
After a while he liked it.
He looks like a big boy in his high chair.
His first girlfriend will definately see this one...
Happy Easter!!
This is a video of Jonah laughing. It's a little fuzzy but you can hear him cracking up.
It has been a whole month since I've had time (or energy) to update Jonah's blog. Sorry everybody!! We have finally settled into some kind of routine. Which is awesome because now we have to change it. Jonah had his first "solid food" on Wednesday (03/10). It was rice cereal with a little bit of formula for flavor...eww. He seemed to like it. He also enjoys baby mum-mums, which is a rice cracker. He can almost hold it and eat it by himself. He hasn't quite gotten the idea of bringing it to his mouth. Instead, he brings his mouth to his hands. I'm sure he'll get it eventually.
He has grown so much! At his last doctor appointment he weighed in at a little over 16lbs. It's hard to believe he is that big! He has started talking like crazy and has mastered the art of "raspberries". It's so funny! I'm not even sure where he learned it. I think he was trying to blow spit bubbles and he did it by accident.
Jonah has started to really recognize Nick and I. He gets upset if one of us leaves the room. Especially Nick. He loves his Daddy. Nick has taught Jonah to give him "five". He probably doesn't even know what he's doing, but it's cute.
Look at those rolls!!
Jonah has caught up to his cousin Brooklyn...almost.
Jonah is a mess after eating his cereal.
Either Jonah didn't like the cereal or he didn't like me pulling his hand out of his mouth. You decide.
He still thinks his Grandpa is hilarious!
Cousin Emma likes to help Baby JoJo hold his bottle.
Lately he has tried holding it all by himself.
He loves playing at Uncle Mike and Aunt Michelle's house.
Jonah is officially 4 months old today! He is turning over from his tummy to his back but has not shown us yet. Most mornings when I go in to start our day, he is on his back! He sleeps on his tummy so I know he didn't start out that way. He is a tricky little guy.
Last week we had dinner at Aunt Tessa and Uncle Garrett's house. He started crying when Kami jumped out and said "Hi Zonah!". He's a little overly sensitive right now, but I'm sure he'll get over it with the help of all of his cousins. Emma and Grace aren't as vocal so they aren't as intense for him as Kami.
Silva and Jonah have been hanging out more. When Jonah is on the floor playing, Silva gets her toys and lays down next to him to play. A few days ago they were "playing" together and Silva decided to lick Jonah's face. Jonah didn't care but when I looked at Silva she had a huge string of Jonah's drool hanging from her cheek. I think they will be BFF's.
Hangin' out in his walker.
Jonah and Silva being friends.
I set my receipt on his car seat and Jonah ate it.
Jonah will be 16 weeks old on Monday(Feb. 1st). According to the doctor's office he wont be 4 months old until Feb. 12th. We are definitely OK with that. He has been growing so fast!
BIG NEWS: Jonah's first laugh!! Jonah actually laughed for real this week!!! I think it kind of surprised him, and me too! It was so cute!! I was changing his clothes when I touched his neck and he got a huge grin on his face and then...he giggled!! It was so funny! I think he is ticklish just like Daddy!
Lately he has been wanting to stand. His legs are super stong and he will "stand" for as long as you'll hold him up. He has also been blowing bubbles while "talking". It is so cute! Jonah has been able to sit up while resting on his hands or his elbows. It's a work in progress... He loves the walker Aunt Mary gave him for Christmas. He can barely touch his toes to the floor, but loves to play with his toys while Mom and Dad make dinner.
We had Jonah's pictures taken last week. They turned out amazing!! Here are a few for everyone to enjoy!!
Well, it is now official. Jonah turned 3 months old yesterday. I can't believe how much he has grown! He has doubled his birth weight, which is supposed to be accomplished by 6 months of age. He is already an over achiever! He can keep himself somewhat upright when he is propped up on pillows or the couch. He seems to like the new view he has of everything. A few days ago I put in a "Baby Einstein" video. I thought it was weird, but he loved it. He watched it for almost 20 mins.
We can actually see him getting smarter all the time. He continues to work on figuring out what his hands are for. This week he has started to grab onto toys and bring them to his mouth. He is always sticking his tongue out. It looks hilarious!
